A solution for the cable jungle on your desk (and a little bit of ergonomics)
USB cable to charge your iphone and ipod, a charger for your laptop and desktop, power cable for your display, a desk lamp, USB hubs and other usb cables to your external HDD and printer……
I hate cables. I’m tired of dealing with clinched cables, seriously.
I wish I could do everything with completely wireless. 10 years later, probably we can, but today, we cannot. Therefore, this is one good solution to deal with your ugly cable jungle. It also provides a little bit good ergonomics to your laptop (display height and keyboard tilt).

It’s not the SF story, but what if all the cars in the world are completely automated? Anyway, watch this video.
Human Factors experts know that automation can help people, but too much automation can cause boredom, confusion, frustration, and ultimately accidents. However, what if your vehicle is completely automated? Well, all cars in the world are automated, the story would be much different, I guess. And fully automated car is actually in a practice phase already.
AI cars that they tested look really intelligent and stable. You will be surprised the fact that the technology is advanced this far.
Herman Miller Sayl Chair by Yves Bahr
I’m moving out to the new residence. Therefore, I need a new desk chair and desk.
After all intense researches both offline and online, I reached the conclusion that this Sayl Chair might be the best ergonomics chair offered under $500. Since I’m always sitting on my chair when I’m in my house a desk chair is the most important furniture for computer person like me.
This vid pretty much describes what’s special about this chair:
As all ergonomist know, the most important factor for this kind of chair is lumber support. Their lumber support mechanism looks very reasonable to me: The back support shape is respectively help L5/S1 section of the lumber, and flexible material guarantees degree of freedom on my lumber movement. Arm rest height adjustment, chair height adjustment, and lumber support angle adjustment are also quite nicely implemented (Well, but if you add all adjustment options, it will cost you like $900, though). The cushion is somewhat questionable since it is very thin and I’m not sure if my butt can get hurt or not.
The chair will arrive in January. Let’s see how good this chair is then.
Keyboard for Blondes: Blonde-centered design
Nice design! Most of function keys are useless keys indeed!
Btw, this design is partly indicating a very important fact that “Some keys on a keyboard seem to be useless or never be used by some population.”. Objectively thinking, actually, Tab, ctrl, alt, shift, or esc keys are totally non-intuitive and really hard to say how they work. The keyboard design should have been much more easier to use.
MARUSSIA: The First Russian Super Car
Cool & Interesting design. The square-shaped steering is almost correct design from ergonomics perspective since the arm and wrist angle become relatively more natural than round-shaper steering when people uses it.
However, I’m not sure how that Ammonite-Looking interface works. It looks like showing RPM and km/h in integrated meter. Somehow other indicators such as fuel meter, current gear, and etc. look a bit cluttering to me.
MARUSSIA B2 2.8T has 1100 kg (2420 lbs) weight, 426 ps, Middle engine- Rear wheel drive, and 6 speed gears.
Some idea for ergonomics design and usability.
Some designs in here are useless in practice, but funny and creative.
Following on from my previous post about NASA’s Space Exploration Vehicle, this post features a look back to the original moon-buggy; the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV), which was used in the early 1970’s. I think it’s incredible just how different the two vehicles are, both in terms of the…
